First and foremost, this is a personal site. Because I am interested in learning a bit more about the place in which I live, I have included some of the information about the town which I've gathered from various sources. Some of those sources will have been other people who are passing on half-remembered stories; others may be quotes and retelling of information found on the internet. I have less time than I would like, to research historical and other local information properly and sometimes, conveying the "feel" of things is more important than accuracy in the fine details. This site is not intended to be an authority or a research source in itself. I cannot guarantee the accuracy of information passed to me by others, but I do my best to verify what I can and to offer my visitors a true picture of the town both past and present.
