Motor Torpedo Boat MTB102
This World War 2 Motor Torpedo Boat, built in 1936-7, was refitted and restored in 1976 for the film 'The Eagle Has Landed'. She was one of the first modern motor torpedo boats and was active in the rescue of British troops from Dunkirk. Here she is seen moored on Lake Lothing.
Profile of the boat at the Historic Vessels Mooring in the Lowestoft Yacht Marina, as seen from the walkway of the yacht club.
View from the other side, with the yacht club behind.
The torpedo tubes are fakes, there for appearances only.
I don't think the lifeboat stands much of a chance if there's a shoot out!
