Rig Support Vessels
I liked this picture. The little 'Kittiwake' looks like a child's toy moored here behind the huge Britannia Chieftain.
"OK, I think we've got him cornered."
But you have to admire the cheek of the little fella.
The Kittiwake in full glory at the head of the column.
Big red bow...
Of the big red Zircon, seen here with the Lowestoft port grain silo on the horizon.
The yellow splodge marks the place to aim your helicopter at. Must be fun on a rough sea. Maybe it doesn't mean that at all, I just guessed that's what it's for.
If you're not sure there's smoke coming out the top just climb the steps and see.
A grim reminder that death is always close at sea. But at the time this made me think of a verse in the song 'What shall we do with a drunken sailor?', the answer being "Put 'im in a locker with a hosepipe in him" (the real verse is "put him in the scuppers," -a hole in a ship's side to carry off water from the deck - "with a hosepipe on him.")
